To conquer the Mont Blanc ... if that is
not a challenge. That is what it ment for
RINO MAES, 39 year old manager of Textiles
MAES A. N.V. (www.maestextiles.com),
from Anzegem.
Rino decided to head direction Chamonix on
the 13th of August ’06 together with 4
friends – after months of preparation and
planning.
An initiation with “crampons” and a “piolet”,
meaning climbing irons under the mountain
shoes and an ice axe, made them realise what
was awaiting them up there. The two
scheduled nights on 2,500 and 4,000 m also
were unique events.
On the 17th of Augustus, finally the big job
went on. During 3 consecutive days several
attempts were made to conquer the 4,807 m
high giant. Unfortunately, extremely severe
weather conditions withheld them from
reaching the top safely.
Allthough the top was not reached, INSIDE
COMMUNICATIONS is proud to have sponsored
this expedition! After this great adventure,
we wish them all the best with all other
challenges they will come across.
As a company, Maes A. Textiles is doing
well. By the globalisation, a new
orientation was necessary, and this was
implemented succesfully. By the expansive
dynamic, the head office was moved to new
modern offices, and a production unit in
Vichte was taken over.
Rino Maes: "Our decisions have been
supported very well by the INTEX textiles
ERP software. Clear and correct information
allow us to offer our customers optimal
service and to operate with a cost efficiënt
organisation".
Bart Maes: "By investing in a “Bilan”
network from Belgacom, we make high saves in
telephone costs and we can monitor the
production units from the head office. The
remote sites work realtime via a Terminal
Server with our ERP software Intex through a
performant private line. All internal
communication (i.e. all VOIP voice-over-ip
phone calls) are secured by the Bilan
network. These are the savings. All IT is
concentrated in the head office, in a
separate server room, where one
Hewlett-Packard server rack provides the
necessary infrastructure e-mail,
communication and security. This streamlines
the control over the IT story and allows
Inside Communications to manage the whole
network via remote control throughout the
various sites".
