INSIDE COMMUNICATIONS - History

1950: Burroughs Computers were major players in what we now call “informatics”.  Mechanical accounting machines backed up the financial processes of companies. The transition from mechanical to electronic systems was a tough period.  Until the first computers appeared.  Many companies switched over to a new computer system when the VAT regulation was introduced.

1986: Burroughs and Sperry merge into UNISYS. The focus is laid onto large concerns, banks and institutions.  Support is entrusted to “dealers”. Orbo nv becomes Unisys dealer in the Western and Eastern Flanders region. Under the leadership of the charismatic André Vandenhende, Orbo knows a steady growth.  By standing close to the users, a team of employees with specialisation textiles and dsitribution is formed.

1986: Inside Communications Ltd. is founded with hardware distribution as the activity.

1997: Start up of Inside Communications in its present form as an ICT service supplier. Orbo nv - Waregem – is integrated into Inside with its employees. This goes together with the move to the present location : Vichtseweg 109 in Waregem and an increase in capital up to 124.000,00 EUR.

1998: Inside Communications develops as a specialist in computer services with the integration of some employees and specialised software from Divermo – Courtrai.

2000: Integration of employees and take over of the textiles software of I.C.S. - Poperinge.

2001: Inside Communications focusses on the textiles and distribution sectors. Inside Communications SK in Slovakia is created.

2002: INTEX and INDIS are launched, two especially applied packages for the textiles and distributon sectors respectively. Both packages have specialised modules for the underlying branches in both sectors. Inside Communications SAS in Lille, France is set up.

2003: INTEX (Textiles) and INDIS (Distribution) prove themselves on the market as stable and very practical packages, which are improved constantly by applying the newest evolutions in technologies.

2005: INTEX (Textiles) and Indis (Distribution) are stable products.  They are unrivalled with regards to functionality.  They are very reliable and useful packages.

2006: Flemish companies suffer from globalisation.  Hard work is not sufficient any longer to turn the tide.  Smaller orders, short delivery times and sharp prices require ever more from software packages.  Therefore the new functionalities are worked out larger and adjusted to the new necessities.
